Tiruppur: Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) has sought enhancement of interest subvention on pre and post-shipment rupee export credit for knitwear exports from 2% to 4% up to March 31, 2011 for the benefit of the exporting community.

Tirupur: Hundreds of knitwear exporters observed fast in the city on Friday in protest against the frequent upward revision of cotton yarn prices by spinning mills in the last few months.

Tiruppur: The State Bank of India will install 11 more ATMs and open another branch in Tirupur district before the end of the current financial year, according to SBI Deputy General Manager (credit) P. J. Thomas.
He told The Hindu here that of the 11 ATMs planned, seven would come up in the city and the remaining in peripheral towns like Palladam and Koduvai. “Once these commissioned, the total number of ATMs of the bank in the district will go up to 40,” he said.

TIRUPUR: Majority of the garment manufacturers here have started approaching the dyeing units in Perundurai and Erode for colouring and washing, as the local dyeing units have not begun operations in full swing and are also charging high rates.
