TN police search for illegal immigrants
Tirupur: In a drive to clear out illegal African nationals in Tamil Nadu, the police have arrested fourteen illegal Nigerian nationals in Tirupur. They were staying in the country without valid passports.
This comes after an illegal Nigerian was killed as a result of bloody fallout of a drug deal in the outskirts of the city recently.
Investigations revealed that these Nigerians had entered into the county on the pretext of exporting garments from the textile city.
They were booked under the Foreigners Act and remanded to custody.
The police have cautioned house owners to check the identities of their foreign tenants before leasing out the house.
