Mega Book fair and short film festival in Tirupur
Tirupur: The seventh edition of Tirupur Book Fair organised by Pinnal Book Trust would commence at K.R.C. City centre here on Friday.
The 10-day event would be open to public from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on all days except on the inaugural day. On the first day, the fair would commence at 5 p.m.
The fair committee chairman S. Duraisami told reporters that a total of 94 stalls would be set up at the fair in which about one lakh books were to be exhibited. As many as 72 leading publishing houses and sellers like National Book Trust Sahitya Academy and Ananda Vikatan publications, among others, would take part.

Mr. Duraisamy said Malayalam and Hindi books would be displayed for sale this time. “We are also making arrangements to ensure participation of publishers from Kerala to cater to the wide section of Malayali readers based in the city,” he added.
To add colour to the event, a short film festival had been arranged on its sidelines.
“We will show a short film each every day, including four international short films, on topics such as environment, social awareness, hygiene and education, free to the visitors,” Mr Duraisamy said.
